There not a bad trap, the fully modified hold muck better, looking into bridger , Minnesota brand makes/distributed them here in the u.s.a., bridgers are made Taiwan mb( Minnesota brand) makes the mb 550 there the best fox and yote trap going and there made in America. If was to order new mb is the only way to go. Also sleepy creek manufacturing makes a much better 1.75 and there made in America as well.

I appreciate the input. The MB is quite a bit more expensive though aren't they?

The sleepy creek 1.75 run 160$ a doz. Not sure on Bridger and the mb's run 200$ a doz well worth the money.

the mb line of traps are practically ready to go out of the box, the only thing i did with mine besides cleaning them is added a mid chain swivel and jc connor double stake ring..

might better buy quality the first time

I agree with the 550 being the best predator trap on the market, tim cavens Is a super nice guy and gives several American jobs making these traps. a plain jane foreign made trap maybe cheaper but you need to base plate, center swivel, laminate the jaws. by the time you do all that you have a foreign made trap that cost as much as a usa made one.
