my dogs stay on dirt at my house, the dogs i am hunting for other people get to stay in these nice kennels out at the farm. 30 years ago this was a hog farrowing operation, the building is great for storage, handy for keeping feed in, and i have a whelping box inside. the sloped, guttered concrete is ideal for ease of cleaning. we built a pole barn on the north side for hay storage which serves as a great windbreak during winter weather. the two barns create a breezway to help keep the dogs cool in the summer. i do have to use an artificial shade, which i don't like, but it works. feel free to compliment or critique this setup, if you see any way to make it better, please let me know.

that looks like a good setup, I put ply wood over top of the dogs barrels, if they cant get out it gives them some where else to lay off the concrete
