wvcur, yea i had mine like that for the first 15 years when i had dog pens on the ground and never had a problem. then for the last 25 years i've had the free standing off the ground pens and they are seperate from each other. it makes it so i can get under them from both sides, that makes it much easier to clean out from under them.having them 4 feet apart i can run the lawn mower between them and it just makes it much nicer.plus i can move them if i want or need to.............TC

This is a brood pen...thus why it has a heat lamp installed. You can use the same basic idea.

i will post some pix of mine. they have 2x2 with a 2 inch space between them so the stool and urine can fall through to the ground. don't have to clean as often and dogs stay healthy because they don't walk in the waste. the brood pen with no way for the waste to fall through have any purpose? i don't understand the point of having them off the ground if the run floors are solid.................TC
