We bought Threat in early 2005 from Morris/Mckenzie in SC. He was just turning two years old and had just got back from the PKC Pup Shootout a few months before where Barry Kiddy handled him to a Final Four finish. Barry Kiddy was the previous owner and had done most of the training on him. Barry had put a Pup Ticket on him earlier that year with around $1300 won for the month, and also placed him in the Semifinalists in the 1 year old SS. When we got him I went on and put him in the top 5 of the State in PKC for that year and also placed him in the Semifinalists in the Two year old SS. In 2006 I won the PKC Fla State Race, and also got his UKC Grand Nite Champion, Grand Show Champion title. In 2007 I slowed down in hunting him some but still placd him 3rd in the PKC Fla Standings. This year I didn`t hunt him in many hunts until May and then pulled him out and placed 2nd in the State Standings, and also was able to Finish him th AKC Supreme Grand Nite Champion. He has also won Pro-ams, Placed in State Championships, made Semifinaists at Pro Hunts, and has made Final Fours at many added purse hunts. He has won well over 130 cast wins.
Threat is a quick strike dog, that is a extremely hard hunter that is by himself most of the time. He wins by being alone and having his coons. He has a real nice mouth, and has not got an ill hair anywhere. He is a great track dog that runs his coons to catch and has a great locate. He has a great handle and I can usaully call him out no matter what he is doing. His strong heart to hunt alone, and his accuracy is his strong points. I have hunted with several of his pups that are showing his some traits and winning in the hunts.
The 2008 CoonDawgs.com Hound of the Year will receive a trophy as well as a new "20V Belt Light" donated by Valley Creek Hunting Supply, a "Maxima Complete 1000/10 with 2 new Strike Tree collars" along with a Tracker Flash Light donated by Tracker Radio, and "1 Dog Trashbreaker EXP Trainer (Expandable to 6 dogs)" donated by Tri-Tronics.
