My blue tick hound (a little over a year old) will tree and trail a coon skin real good all day long, but whenever I take him out with older dogs he won't follow them into the woods. What can I do to make him follow them?

I always hunt mine alone until they are doing it well by themselves, then hunt them 1 night with other dogs and 1 without until I know that they can do it either way. This helps them to not be dependent on other dogs. I know many people that say there running with other dogs but that is all. However if you need to run it with the pack I would suggest that you let them socialize with the other dogs and also if you are concerned I would catch a coon and see if the other dogs are aggressive at tree. This in the end will make a nice dog that can do it either way. Hope this helps and God bless.
