I was approached by one of their distributors in becoming a dealer. I have see in and won some at a hunt but its not big in our area and I know very little about it.
I was looking for some input from those of you that are using it or have used it in the past. I would also like to know what the going price is.
I'm looking at
26/18
24/20
22/12
Thanks for any help..........

Been feeding it for a while now, I feed the black bag in the winter, and camouflage in the warmer months. Now at our coop they have Sportmix puppy 33 lb bag 18.99 good dark food pups love it, it's 28 / 20. Never had a problem with them eating it. Our black bag is 22.99 for 50. TSC has black bag in 40 lb bag for 25.99 and don't carry the puppy mix. To me it's way better than most and a lot better price.

I've been reading all of the dog foods threads & was wondering if anything has changed since most threads are over a year old. I'd never heard of sportmix before buying a new pup 3 weeks ago. that's what the seller was feeding his dogs. so I'm feeding the 26/18 high performance in the blue bag. 25.95 for 50#'s at bucheits farm supply. the younger of the 2 pups I bought has been having a lot of loose stools. he's up on his shots & has been wormed. I'm not saying it's definitely because of the food. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience? also- I've read the breakdowns on the formulas of a lot of brands & it looks like the biggest difference between adult & puppy food is the protein content. y'all think the high performance promix is suitable for a puppy? it has about the same amt. of protein as most puppy foods.

I haven't fed it since 2009. Why are you feeding pups adult food? 26/18 to me is not enough for a growing pup. I would feed puppy formula dog food as puppy formulas have higher protien/fat content nutrients for proper growth for a growing pup.

Sometimes loose stool when feeding is because of over feeding.

I wanted to keep him on what the previous owner was feeding him before switching to something different. which puppy food do you prefer? that aside, why did you quit feeding sportmix?

I just got off the phone with purina & sportmix. they both say that the sportmix 26/18 blend is suitable for puppies. i'll still look for a puppy food with a higher protein & fat count. this pup is 26 pounds. I'm giving him 1 1/2 cups, 3 times a day so I don't think I'm overfeeding him.
I guess they had a right hand/left hand thing going on as I got a 2nd call back from sportmix. this guy said that the sportmix 26/18 was preferable for a large breed puppy than puppy food which was better for smaller breed pups. I'd already picked up some Costco puppy food which is made by diamonds. it's a 28/20 blend. I'm mixing it 50/50 with the sportmix for now to change him over gradually. his stools have been normal of late but since I added the puppy food the color lightened up some but remained solid, not loose.
