I use a Rossi 22 with a red dot sight it's short and light weight also is a single shot with two safety so it is very safe. Also In the summer I carry a walther p22 with rat shot for a snake

Where I'm located (S/W Tn) we have alot of wild pigs. I carry a 22 mag rifle, 22 single shot sidearm. Used them both. At 63 my eyes aint' what they use to be. My son, and grand-son are both dead eye with either.

I use my trusty Ruger 10/22, 22lr. I just put a sling on it, wish I did that a long long time ago. Also a cheap low power scope we had sitting around. Good unit, a scope is well worth it IMO. I'm just using some solid 40gr lead federal rounds, I'm a little nervous to use some hollow points but maybe we'll see sometime

I'm getting kinda old and my eyes are not what they used to be so I use a 30mm Tasco Red Dot sight on a single shot break action rifle. With the lite set on the lower settings around 2 or 3, I can clearly see the eyes glowing and the dot. I could probably put the sight on a repeater, but the single shot is so much lighter to carry and has never failed me.

I saw a different type of dot sight the other day in the BB gun section of the big box store I frequent that I may try out on my .22 single. There were two, both smaller than my Tasco. A Crossman for $13 and a Gamo for $10. The Crossman said on the package it was for ,22 also, but the Gamo didn't. Being retired and on a fixed income, I will probably try out the Gamo even though it didn't mention ,22. I have had pellet guns and BB guns that recoiled a lot more than my .22, so I can't see the difference between the Crossman and Gamo.
