Maybe I'm mistaken but Mike implied that a couple days without feed equals starvation. Not to beat a dead horse but it doesn't. Withholding feed to correct a behavior however is not a method I agree with.

I agree withholding food for any other reason not directly related to the dogs food is wrong. Im not saying dont feed tour dog because he ran trash or was babbling on the leash, that wouldnt make sense. But if the bad behavior is directly related to the dogs food and the dog has the sense to put 2 and 2 together then yes. The story i told above is the only reason one of my dogs has ever missed a meal.

Im sure Michael does have knowledge about hounds if TC is saying so. I was just rubbed the wrong way with some of the crap he said in his first post about people being dumb and not caring about their dogs.

Well said, tc I never ment to start a argument, nor did I mean to give the impression that I was mean to my dogs( there is a boxer laying next to me and my wife as I type this in bed) and
Michael the reason I asked if you had dogs was not to say you wernt knowledgable with hounds, but there are so many on these forums that are against what we do a person just never knows. I don't know you personally and just asked your position.
Now tomorrow is deer season here so I got to get to bed so I can get up early and chase all the pay hunters off my ground ugh!!

I wish it was as easy as taking her food away for a couple of days but ive got a big male boxer to and they each have their own food bowl so if she dont have ne she would just go knock his out too i guess im gonna have to go to tractor supply and buy a automatic feeder with a doir they can push open when they want food thank u guys for your help ...... Now my walker female had pups four weeks ago and now there out runnin around all over the place in the kennell and they run strait to her food bowl while she is eating and she growls and snaps at them and she just started this morning and idk y or how to fix that problem she never did it before she dont bite them i guess shes just teachin them a lesson or teachin them to be a hound ..... Wats ur guys take on that therory???
