Hello. I have two redbone pups right at six months old, the boy has been throwing up within five minutes after eating. Haven't had this problem before with him, it's been going on the past 3 or 4 days. They both like to get into the trash sometimes the only thing I can think of is maybe he ate something he shouldn't have. They tore up a pack of cigarettes the other day and ate some of them. Also he likes to eat very fast without chewing I'm thinking this is the main problem. Any ideas?

Nicotine is highly toxic. If he ate alot of smokes he could be poisoned. Nicotine poisoning in dogs can cause liver and kidney problems. He may also be wormy. Or like you said he could be eating too fast and making himself sick. Try feeding him small amounts more often for a while so he's not so hungry and greedy when he gets his feed. Also try worming him if you haven't already

Another thing you can do to slow him down is get a bigger bowl and put some baseballs or rocks about that size. That will make him eat around the balls and slow him down

Lol, that is a good idea. He started eating better after I separated them and is doing fine. Thanks Mr Canadian Hillbilly and J Carson. I appreciate the help
