My gyp recently had a litter of pups. I keep her on a chain and one of the pups crawled away while I was gone. When I brought him back I noticed he had maggots in eyes ears belly button and his rear. I've gotten them off his rear and belly button and most of em out of his eyes and ears but his eyes are barely open and I can't get em all is there anything I can do for it

Keep flushing his eyes with water. And just keep picking the maggots. You'll get them all eventually. There must be some kind of fairly serious infection, cause maggots don't live on fresh meat!!! Clean Clean Clean!
You may even want to give it a shot of antibiotics. If u can't get all the maggots take the pup to the vet!!!

That's what I didn't understand. He's a very healthy pup and out the eight he's the one who crawled out and got the bugs. If I was to give him penicillin how much should I give. Thanks for the quick response by the way

I would go a head and take it to the vet.

I had a litter of Rott. Pups get maggots before. I was young and the dam didn't want to take care of them. My mom wrapped the pups up in hamburger meat and the maggots crawled off the pups to the raw meat. But it was too late they had already gotten inside their belly from the umbilical cord. It was very disturbing. I hope all works out for you.

The problem I'm having most is em in their eye's. I'm hoping they havnt gotten inside em. I have noticed a few that seem to be coming out of the belly button but I doubt there's a lot. The vet did what they could but they couldn't get em all

No they got a few out but they said with his eyes still being closed there wasn't a whole lot they could do. Never mentioned anything about antibiotics
