Dosage and Administration: Valbazen Suspension should be administered to cattle at the recommended rate of 4 mL/100 lb of body weight (equivalent to 4.54 mg of albendazole/lb, 10 mg/kg) and to sheep at the recommended rate of 0.75 mL/25 lb of body weight (equivalent to 3.4 mg of albendazole/lb, 7.5 mg/kg). The following table indicates recommended dosing schedules.
So would the dosage for dogs be 1cc per 25 lbs? Just curious.
I have been using Valbezen for about 10 years. A buddy of mine told me about it and he has been using it for many years and his dogs seem to live to be a ripe old age as well as others. I use more than the cattle recommended dosage of 1 cc per 10 pounds. I use closer to a cc and a half per 10 pounds. Example..........my 45-50 pound hounds will get about 7-8 cc's and say 70 pound hounds will get at least 10 cc's. Just food for thought, what works really well for me is changing up twice a year. Approximately every 6 months, I will worm my dogs with safeguard (horse wormer) one time and right back with the valbezen. I worm my dogs on the first of the month, every month (30th, 2nd,31st) or at least very close to the first of the month.........It may vary a day or two because I don't like worming the day I hunt. I also use valbazen with pups as soon as their eyes open or around 2 wks of age. I am a little more careful with the dosage on them but have had no problems. Seldom do I ever see any sign of worms in any of my dogs................Good Stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm familar with the safeguard. I was given some valbezen to give to my dogs. Was told.75 ml per 25lbs. How often should I give it to my dogs I got beagles..
