All these are good advise and I have tried all of them except the salt I am going to try that next. I think tnhunter might have the same problem I do. And all the frontline in the world won't help my problem. The fleas are in the ground and they don't make anything strong enough anymore to kill them out of the ground. I sprayed my pens with diesel 2wks ago and this is the closest control I have had on them all summer. But I still have them, b/c the are in the ground. I also have frontline on all of my dogs and before I did that I got all the fleas off of them. SO I NEED SOMETHING TOO TO GET THEM OUT OF THE GROUND> any suggestions??

Bayer Advanced Tree & Shrub has the same active ingedient as Advantage at a lower concentration. Can buy at walmart. I put it in a spray bottle and give about 10 squirts on there back. Keeps fleas off but won't get the ticks.

It sure seems like the fleas are out in full force this year! My husband put out some Orthro granuals= tossed them in the pens , around the pens and all over the dog yard. We washed the dogs in Hartz flea and tick shampoo and applied the 1X a month, Hartz 3 in 1 flea and Tick drops but thy're stilll bad. I just dusted em with some cat flea powder I had in the cabinet becasue I saw some crawling on the dogs belly! Gross! :x

So add your flea treatment and remedies here before I accidentlly poison the dogs trying to exterminate fleas! How much can a flea take!

my mom uses ceader chips get a old couch coushion take foam out and put ceader chips inside or put it inside of dog coops another good one is navel orange pillings but ceader chips works very good fleas hate em

I have used vinegar n my dogs water nd grlic pills once a week (i get the people kind cheap at walmart versus the expensive pet kind). I also use front lines during summer. If u keep ur dog dry for 48 hrs after dosing it wont wash off like advantage. Jmho

Go to ur vet and tell them u want a flea pill. It is 20 dollars. Give them the pill before or after feeding and all the fleas will fall off and be dead in 3 hours and won't come back! I have gave my hounds one 3 months ago and still no fleas!

If they r n the ground be sure to water ur area down prior to treating. Malathion (sp?) works really good but area has to dry before hounds go back down. I think ortho bug-b-gone has it in it nd is n a ready to use sprayer. But if u r treating without watering area first u r wasting ur time with most sprays.

There is a pill you can get at your vet. Kills everything larva eggs and fleas works in 30min and last for 30 days. Borax is great for in the house sprinkle it everywhere and vac up the next day safe and effective.
