Ok, this is a tricky situation. I just noticed this morning that my female b&t is swollen. The problem here is that she lives with my male who tonight I took hunting, and noticed that she just started bleeding tonight when I got back(they both stay in a chain link fence). I took a crate and put her in it tonight, just in case. Heres a few questions for one she is 11 months old, and not sure if its a good idea to breed her, during her first heat cycle, Is this a myth? Number two is, it is winter and Iam not sure how long it takes if she is to have pups when she would have them? Iam worried about my males attitude over being possesive towards her, because tonight when i put her in the crate, he became extremely possesive and approach me as i was putting her in, about knocking me over. If this is not a good thing to do; I plan on putting him outside of the fence, chained up, and taking her out of the crate to run in her pen. They both hunt good, so the question of breeding stock is good. What would you do?
Thank you for any advice
Brian

Around 63 days.
Do not breed her now.
I'd set that male dog in his place right quick like.
Good luck.

Thank You guys. There might have been a chance that she was bred before I could get to her in that case, what should I do? If it's too late, what will that do to her? Obviously she'll have pups, but at her age what am I up agaisnt? Please help me out
Thanks again
Brian

One of my females got pregnant at her first heat (10 months old) she did well enough for the pups to make it but she was way too young and did'nt know what to do. If she is knocked up plan on helping her until the pups are a month old. Also your male will be a mess while she is in heat, mine lost 10 lbs and all he did was try to get to her. If you dont want pups I'd separate them ASAP.
