Where exactly is "the west"... because it says in the wildlife calender that TWRA sends through the mail that coon season opens in september in "the west"... can anybody give me a clear boundary of "the west" is that like past murfreesburro or what?...

Dewey visit the TWRA website or go get you a brochere and they will exlain and show you the boundry lines. I hunt Overton and Pickett county and we open Sept 15 th.

Raccoon and Opossum Hunting

Opossum can be taken during the raccoon hunting season. No Limit.

East Tennessee - Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Polk, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, and Washington counties:

Opens - Sunset, Nov. 3
Closes - Sunrise, Feb. 15
Bag Limit - 2 per person per night*.

Remainder of the state:

Opens - Sunset, Sept. 15
Closes - Sunrise, Feb. 15
Bag Limit - 2 per person per night*.
