Sire's grandmother on top side is same as Dam's Dam.

Sire's grandfather on bottom side is same as Dam's grandfather on topside.

Is that too close and considered inbreeding rather line breeding.?

I think it is line breeding but looking for opinions.

I think that I would call it line breeding, breeding brother and sister
that would be inbreeding, but just about any thing else would be
linebreeding, I thing it would be ok to breed that cross. I have did that
befor and it turn out ok. Lonnie Woodcox

that's linebreeding..inbreeding is mom/son, dad/daughter, bro/sis....everything else is linebreeding...you can inbreed with very good results if both parents and grandparents are dynamite dogs. the next breeding you will have to make a 3/4 1/4 breeding(3/4 unrealated 1/4realted) if you want long term breeding/hunting success.

It's a cross that may never even happen.

But the the female in question has a similar pedigree to one of my males and is half brothers to another male I own.

Inbreeding isn't like it is with people. It isn't necessarily a bad thing. The problems that come up are when both parents carry genes for something bad and a pup inherits both so the bad characteristic is either doubly bad in the pup or shows up in more of the pups than if just one parent had the bad genes. If the breeders have studied the bloodline, carefully watched for bad qualities (refused to breed those dogs), only breed good dogs and know the traits of all the dogs in the pedigree inbreeding and linebreeding can have the opposite effect and double up on the chances of the pups inheriting good qualities. The breeding you describe would include both a female dog's grandson to her daughter (or aunt x nephew) and a male dog's grandson to his granddaughter (or 2nd cousins to each other). It would be linebreeding like dwoocox said. If you can trust that the breeder is serious about good bloodlines and breeding practices and has very good dogs it could be a great combination resulting in some awesome pups.

mother/son or Father/daughter is IN-BREEDING and no different than brother and sister crosses.

Make a mother/son cross and look what UKC stamps on your pup papers.

Drew you must know something I don't. At this time I am trying to get Buttons breed to a full brother to her sire. As far as I know these pups will be allowed to get registered. I believe I will be doubling up on the traits, something Bird hunters have done for years. Any faults notice the hounds have to be fixed. But this will be the a corner stone in my breeding program. The sire is a Dual grand and Buttons as you know is winning. even though she has taken over 150 on her own she hasn't been able to show it in the hunts. I think thats because of her cold nose and how I trained her???? But none the less she is a force to be reckoned with. only time will tell!!!

The cross may never happen.

It's a future thought on a female if bred.

I may end of breeding her to a different male and crossing the male back in my example to one of the pups from the cross with a different male.

Just speculation and future thinking.

Way to much can happen between now and then as well as not wanting to make a worthless cross.

If this is the little girl I have heard so much about, Please don't out cross her I believe you will loose what you have and this is JMO. breed her back to the line she came from JMO and I am just trying to help.

Definatly line-breeding. We do the same thing with horses, it works the same way with them. It would be a safe decision.

Buckshot This was just My opinion, If you Believe she has all the tools you want then breed her back to were she came from. Just ask my best friend and you know who that is, he lives in Utah
