I was wondering who people thought was the current bluetick stud right now. I have a female that if she finishes out right I would like to breed and wanting to get a little feedback.

i would have to say either b&d's blue spike or b&d's blue crook. im good friends with the man who broke both of these hounds and the are the best blueticks going in my opinion. spike is crooks dad and i have a pup out of crook and he is about a year old now and is treeing his own coon. had him out a few nights ago and he split treed from a real nice walker dog and had the coon. spike and crook are located in michigan and spike is currently the top producing ukc male.

Look at Ch Gr Nt Ch Bullet's Runnin Rattler owned by Tony Foley. Rattler throws coondogs and he is getting up there in age!

IMO you're going about breeding like most people do - a popularity contest which often ends up with a litter of culls.

Do your research and find a stud do that will strengthen your females faults. It might be a well know highly advertised stud or it might just be a relatively unknown dog down the street.

HUNT with the stud and see their offspring 1st hand.
