I have a question about an ill dog. I am a pleasure hunter and I have a buck creek dog that is a real coon dog as good as I`ve ever hunted with and I`ve been hunting now on 45 years or so. This dog is fast and accurate on track and tree he will also tree layups now and then. He is now 5 1/2 yrs old I`ve had him a little over 4 1/2 yrs. he is very strong, healthy good looking very smart full of energy don`t need no lead straps, loads himself and can call him off the tree ect. as I said I am a pleasure hunter. My question is if I breed him is his offspring going to be ill also, as I would love to get a pup from him, when I say ill, I mean he is ill with other male dogs not people as he is as mild mannered with people as it gets he is a 65 pound baby, I am getting old and I`m going to have to start hunting with others and not by myself, I have never breed dogs so I am wondering.

Yes some will have dominance issues, but not all. Every litter is different. Most ill dogs can be corrected if you address it early and correctly.
However I would expect some to be ill, and would rather error on the side of caution.

If you can break him of it, and are confident you can correct any issues in the Pups. However it sounds you have been unsuccessful, so I would avoid breeding him.
In the mean time, start reading up your dog pyschology, you might be surprised, that your dog isn't mean at all, but just possesive on tree, and still may be able to be corrected.
