I have a 1.5 yr old female walker. Good dog so far. When its time to breed her I want to know what stud to choose. I think that accuracy is what I want in a stud , walker bred dog. This traight I think is the most important to me (accuracy). Any advice out there would be great. Thanks Joe

RED EAGLE STYLISH BOOMER GOOGLE RED EAGLE MACK OR RED EAGLE BOOMER. Boomer and Mack pups have made some of the most accurate coondogs out there, many are used on bobcats. hounds bred with accuracy as the main goal. a coon hunters type coondog from back when having the meat was the name of the game. honest strike and honest trees. no fame , no titles, you brag on what your pup does not on just what its out of.

Theres more to it then just that. Yes the walker breed as a whole has gotten a little tree happy a lot of guys will tell you.
Trackdogs are more accurate normally. Treedogs generally have less issues with trash and are easier to train, therefore can be more enjoyable to train. Trackdogs generally are colder nosed. People have different preferences. The best way to find a stud, is by talking with hunters and breeders. Find one that takes to the same type of dogs that you take to. Breeds for the same traits that you like in a dog. For example I like brains, drive and ablitity. In that order, other guys might be looking for independence, mouth, and accuracy. If accuracy is important to you then I can also confirm, that all the dogs listed above are known for accurate dogs. I have a grandpup to sunrise, he is very accurate. I agree accuracy plays a large role in a coonhound. Out of all the lines of dogs we've hunted or hunted with Wipe Out Dogs have by far impressed me on accuracy. However, when choosing a cross with your female don't forget the overall picture. Over looking one trait or goal and forgetting about the others can have it's drawbacks. Look at her attributes and flaws (no offense, every dog has some type of flaw) and find the dog that compliments her. Conformation wise and hunting ability wise. Breeders should think about this, the purpose and plan for those future pups. Pups are gamble anyways, however putting thought into that litter does nothing but benefit the breed, our future hounds, and greater the odds of the performance of the pups.

Get ahold Of Mr Doug Compton with Bonecollector. I've with bone and against bone many times and he is one of the most accurate stud/winning dogs out there. Just look what his pups are doing already!
