I read an advertisement guaranteeing these pups to run and tree at a year old. Just wanting some hunters input on these night hawk dogs and what they are like. posted using Outdoor Hub Campfire

I think these dogs are top secret. no one seems to have an opinion good or bad. He has a lot of repeat customers, I am picking up a male pup at Walker Days from Alan White. Call him on the phone, check out his guarantee.

All you can do is buy one and find out. Yrs ago I bought a dog from a litter that nobody ever heard of. Turned out to be a good coondog. You never know what you'll find or where it's going to be. Good luck to ya. Posted using Outdoor Hub Campfire

Do a search for Hans Wagner/Nightrider bloodlines. You will find there are actually quite a few people still hunting this old bloodline. The female in my picture is Nightrider on her topside. It is one of the older bloodlines still around, and nearly every line goes back to it at some point. I have talked to several people that still hunt this line and most are used for hide hunters and big game hunters. I talked to a fella from Montana that hunts hounds for Alan White, and from what we discussed, my hound shows a lot of the dominant traits that the Nightriders carry. If I could clone my dog and hunt one exactly like her for the rest of my life, I would.
She is one of the smartest dogs I have ever been around. She hunts like crazy, but at home she is like a pet. When working in the yard, and the dogs are running around, she will lay in the shade and watch me and won't run off. Cleaning the kennel is easy because she craps in the same spot every time. I will admit she jacks the tree like crazy when in a lot of company, but I can live with that. She is kind of odd with a coon on the ground. If it is in a hole, she will be the first one in and the one to pull it out, but if you shoot one down, she has no interest in it.
They aren't top secret, but they aren't tearing up the competition hunts, so very few newer people hear about them getting bragged up.
