nocturnal Nailor is 2nd historic reproducer. He was breeding in late 80's and into 90s. Jess dickerson owned the dog. Nailor had some ill hairs on him, was scrathed severl times on bench for growling at the judge. but he still went on to be one of the top studs.

I personally didnt like nailor himself but he did produce some good offspring. All my hounds have him somewhere but its off the 3gene. Xjr is one of the best decents i think you could breed into your nailor breed hounds. Off course youd have to go with one of his offspring now to.

From my veiw nailor put alot of tree in the hounds. it can be good or bad pending how all the other genes come into play.

Nailor was a hot stud dog win i got started in the early to mid 90s i was never around the dog but seen a lot of his pups they were sure enuff TREE DOGS best dog i ever hunted with was xjr sir skipper he was fast on the ground when he located u could tree him a world beater on that night up in AK. a powerhound and ol skipper has tru some big name dogs like xjr-trackman-etc.I prefur treedogs so nailor breed dogs are fine in my opinon. And they for the most part have good mouthes.

That is suppose to mean as a dog may be able to track fairly good but come up short on occasions. When id rather have a dog be able to put him in a tree in doesnt matter how hard he trees.

Read toe cutters saying under his picture. "It doesnt matter how long or how hard they tree if they ant got the meat."

When I started hunting it was shortly after Nailor had died. That dog was talked about like he was a true Legend. I had a female that had Nailor 2nd generation and she was a great tree dog. I loved that coon dog, can't wait to get another like her but I like B&T now.

Here's a couple pics of GRNITECH Nocturnal Nailor in case any of u folks had never seen a pic of him. He was a big, leggy hound with a big mouth that produced a bunch of Top hounds. He also produced a bunch of average hounds, & a bunch of sorry hounds as well. I believe he made GRNITECH just before his 2nd B-day & I think was retired to the stud pen soon after. I've heard stories about him being a nice hound, and I've also heard stories that he wasn't even close to finished before being retired. I'm sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle, however, if he was retired at 2yr old, then he most certainly wasn't a finished Coondog. Just as NO 2yr old hound is a finished Coondog, regardless of how nice they seem to be
