Good People,

I have a thirteen week old red bone. I hunt a lot in general, but have never spent anytime on raccoons. I want to train my pup and learn as much as I can. Any info on clubs or people willing to let me tag along on a hunt would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the coon hunting world! I was hooked from the first night I went with hounds. Even before they made the 1st tree, I knew I was addicted!

Hopefully there are some hunters near you that you can hunt with. By the time your pup gets 9 or 10 months it will be ready to start. Until then, let it be a pup and work with it with basic obedience and loading up.

Keep us posted on the progress of your pup, and Good LUCK!

Thanks for the welcome. I know I am addicted to hounds already. Love teaching this dog the basics and just walking around the woods with him.
