Anyone every coon hunt in Blackwater Forest? Do any good?

I have done a little deer hunting with dogs in the forest, but never heard of anyone coon hunting around here.

Thanks for the reply Blu.

I have never been coon hunting, but love to hear hounds. Been lurking on this site off and on for a couple of years. Bout ready now to take the plunge and get a dog. Am wondering if the reason I haven't heard of anyone around here currently hunting is because its no good or something.

the coon hunting is great. every where I've been so we've gotten on them. only reason i can think of why u don't hear bout folks hunting coons is the trees really don't loose there leaves like up north. that doesn't keep me from enjoying it. I've got an old redtick, and a young bluetick went out to econfina last nite treed twice got one coon. awsome hunt to me and my son

Thanks for the info. I found on the internet there used to be a UKC club over here, but haven't found anything current on it. Yall know if its still active?

Is it 'ok' to just go to a UKC event/hunt as a spectator? Would that be worth doing?

Thanks again.

The club is in berrydale now i use to go to it when they had it in holt but since they moved it i haven't been back. If u want to just go as a spectator i would just ask one of the guys on a cast if u can tag along most of the time they won't care
