Welcome to the Coon Fever. This is Stanley from Panola county. You picked a great sport to get into. The longer you stay there the more it becomes a part of you. I've been hunting these critters for 50 years and still love every minute of it, even the bad nights. I guess if it all went just like it's suppose to it would probably get boring.
I'm getting older and slower but my hunting partner still takes me along. If he can drive close enough, I'll walk to the tree. If not then I stay at the truck and listen, it's still fun.
Best of luck to ya and Merry Christmas!

Hi Stanley!! I havn't hunted my cur on coons as much as I should we have been Sq hnting him mostly since season opened. All summer we had him out n about hitting the woods. Some nights were great and other nights I walked out of the woods scrachng my head. We killed over a half dozen coon to him since july, he's a young dog and is starting to put thing together rather nicley now. My son and I will be hitting the coon woods monday evening, coons or not we will have a good time!!!
