Is anyone else hitting lots of dens in Missouri? I sure am. 5 on Saturday night around Chilicothe, 2 on Sunday night and 3 last night. I wonder if its my dog or if the coons are just not getting out very far.

Hello Jerrod,
I am near Nevada, Missouri. I have had the same problem, but we got slammed with the weather a couple of weeks ago. Last night we only got one den tree- A great big pecan with a hollow limb.

Have you guys down in south Missouri had any better luck the last couple of nights?

I went on Monday and treed in the ground two different times and one in a big hollow oak tree. I hope you all are having better luck than me, I can't remember a year with so many dens, especially with the warm weather the last week and a half. The coons I have been catching on the outside seem to be small to. I haven't caught a single big one yet.

Best of luck to ya'll and if anyone want's to come up to central MO and tree den trees let me know, lol!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Jerrod Leathers

Same here in VA. I went the other night and made 3 dens before I finally got on on the outside, and then went the next night and treed in two dens, but luckily, one of the coons must have forgot to go inside because he was right in the top of a huge den. I don't know what it is, but the coons have just been plain few and far between here in southwest VA.
