Hello, I'm from Louisiana and haven't been coon hunting very long. I have one dog at this time. I just recently purchased a treeing walker puppy from Mr. Terry Coggins of Arkansas. I am very excited about my new puppy. He is bred just the way I want. He has alot of old style blood in him including Sackett, Sackett Jr., Nocturnal Nailor and is a grandson to Rat Attack. His father is Grand Nite Champion Timber Tiger, which is a direct son of Rat Attack. Timber Tiger also has an all grand pedigree. His mother has Hickory Nut Harry and Stylish Hayes in her pedigree along with more Sackett blood.
I know papers and names can't put coons in trees, but I know they help. My puppy seems to have some since and he always has his nose to the ground. When he barks it is very loud for a 2 and half month old puppy. I cant wait to start training him.
Like I said before I haven't been coon hunting very long and this will be my first puppy to train. Any advice and suggestions are welcome. I just want to get some dogs of my own. Im tired of hearing of so and so having a good dog that will do this and that and then when you get him and pay almost $1,000 or more for him he ain't near about the dog he was made out to be. This way I can start my dogs and know what I have instead of guessing or taking a chance on hear say.
Yall give me holler some time. I like talking about dogs and coon hunting. Good luck to everyone.
