i had 4 bridger #2 4-coiled get smashed by a huge tractor last fall. i also have 6 bridger 1 3/4 2-coiled that i don't use. my question is can i make the 1 3/4 2-coiled into 4 coiled with the parts on the #2's. also do you think that bridger 1 3/4 4 coiled are strong enough for coyote.
thanks jeff

i have caught yotes in 1 1/2's before and they didnt pull out. but a four coiled trap that is base plated, center swivelled, with an extra swivel or two in the chain and the jaws laminated would be the best setup, but the 1 3/4 will work also, up north where the coyotes get a bit bigger, they can pull the jaws out of some traps, that is where the base plateing and laminating come in handy.

The 1 3/4 are plenty stout enough to hold yotes. But i wouldn't put those #2 springs on them two make them four coiled they will be extremly hard two set and could damage the jaws. I would use a music wire spring or 1.5 springs to four coil your 1 3/4.

Bridger has a short spring so you can 4 coil, Bridger is a better trap than a Duke, those back wood boys are good trappers they are always on the money. listen to them.
