I'v had best success with building a small platform that hugs a tree in the area the squirrels are, and weaving grass in the trap, then take you a corn on the cob, run a piece of bailin wire through the core, wire it at back and put some peanut butter on it. Works real good. I had to get creative because of these dang grey squirrels are so smart.

put a bunch of corn in your cage trap and wire the door open so it cant close. when they are eating the corn regularly, unwire the door and set it, alot of times you will catch more than one squirrel at a time.

i have discovered one thing about training dogs... to begin with you have to be smarter than the dog...now if it turns out that the dog is smarter than you trade him in on one that is a little dumber ! ...... come on sunset !

I've trapped dozens of squirrels in a live trap just using peanuts in the hull. Put the trap where squirrels are active-I just set it on the ground-put a couple of peanuts on the ground outside the trap, one in the front edge of the trap and a couple in the back of the trap behind the tripping device. This is 100% sure. Good luck.

The best bait for cage traps and squirrels i've found to be those Oreo cookies. Just stick at least on to the back of it so they can lick it a little but cant get it all so they come in. Out of curiosity i tried it one day and watch one get caught with 10 mins. Hope it helps someone.
