he was meeting people at meijers and payin 30 $ average. so i went..LOL.. they got to be stretched, dried and scrapped.plus be prime jumbos...the only way the price will go up is to cause a demand. if we wont sell them for 11 bucks, then when they need them bad enough they will pay more. if they can buy them for a couple bucks then why cut into any profit they have by payin more... its all about supply and demand.we play right into their hands selling them like we do now.

NAFA has a enough coons over from last year to fill all the needs this year,Last year only 35% of our coons sold, that has never happened since the 70's,if you can get 8 to 10 bucks for a big Northern coon take it and buy dog food.

i'm sayin i aint sellin them for pennies..you figure what you spend to hunt, thats what your sellin them coon for -pennies if that..
if they want them, they can pay more or buy and feed their own dog and haul them out their self..buzzards got to eat too.

i'll walk a mile to my dog treed and kill the coon.but its because i like coondogs. aint got a thing to do with what i could sell the fur for.
there are some fat buzzards where i hunt.

If you'll want prices to go up all everyone has to do is stop saleing the fur for a while. Get it off the market and the demand will go up after a while. The problem is getting everyone to do that. If everyone would the supply for the factorys would go down and demand would go up and that would drive the prices up to where they need to be.

Yup there sure are some fat buzzards LOL. I live on a farm and shoot almost every coon I see except a sow in the spring and still get a few of those too, its called crop control. I shoot them for the dogs. If price ever gets up I will bring them back

So what do you guys think that the price needs to be? I'm a coonhunter and don't like the thought of prices getting up around $50 again and my dogs coming up stolen. I would like to see them around a $10 average. That way I can afford dog food and some gas money. I agree with you guys that are saying to shoot them out to the dogs and leave them lay. I got $3 average here in Missouri this year. Bunch of BS. Took a lot more time than that to skin them, haul them out, and everything. My time is worth more than $3 to me.
