the easiest way to catch them is locate their dens and place a 110 bodygrip trap or colony trap in front of it. I also catch alot in pocket sets for coon on creeks. dig a hole about 6 inchs around and 12 inchs deep at the water level and put your trap in front of hole in 1-2 inchs of water. just have your trap set on a drowner so the rat can drown other wise if trying to hold them without drowning they have a bad tendencity to ring out.

If your going to do some hardcore muskrat trapping, for sure dont worry of moving a trap to a diffrent spot. Example: like when you set a fox or coyote trap and its ben a day or two that you havent cought anything you still keep your trap there untill like a week or two. with muskrats if you dont catch one in a day or two it wont be a bad to move it to another fed bed, run, etc. good luk Lefty25

Ive used the bottom edge set,its deadly once you figure out how to read a creek. I believe Ken Smiythe has a video on it , its for mink trapping but is a deadly set for rats. Im sure I didnt spell that guys last name right but its close.
