it is according how long you plan on keeping it........if its just up to a week a roll cage would be fine.....if longer make you a good pen out of wood 3ftx3ft should do good if you want to keep it a while

HEAVY GAUGE WIRE FOR SURE I had one in a rabbit cage and he bent the wire and got out. didn't do him any good the dogs just trailed him to his little hiding place once I got home from work and saw that he had escaped. Susie has her's in chain link.

it definatly could bcause of different food, bedding, city water and so on.....never thought about it that much, i doubt that it would affect in training a pup though

The best pen for coon is the woods. If you're training a coon dog, train it to hunt, not wait on you to produce a coon in a cage for it to bark at.I PROMISE YOU, as I've said a million times, you DON'T need caged coons to train pups, and if you have an older dog that needs to see caged coons to get fired up to go hunting, you DON'T have a coon dog.But if you are convinced that you do need a coon, trap one, use it for a day, and let it go.When you need another one, trap another one, use it for a day, and let it go.
