I am having a bad and I mean bad rat problem. our neighbors collect garbage and bring it home with them, so now all of us are having problem with rats. I am talking about rats longer then a big flat head shovel with out it tail. we been putting rat poison out from the pros not store bought. got two big cats that only kills mice, bats, birds, moles but not rats. they bring it to us so I know. I been thinking about getting a kill trap for them. My wife and kids cant go out side without having to look for them stupid rats. just seen two in my building.
yes I live in the country, but ten rats in one area at a time is too much, the county knows but don't care, the state said that the county has to do something about it. we need help any ideals.
I am thinking about a leg trap, any ideals on what to get. thanks

lol, cant stay out all night shooting, plus there not a safe place to do that. hey somebody told me to use coke, 1 cup of golden marlin fly poison, and mix it all in a cake pan and set it out. has anybody else done this, and if so did it work great.

We use to trap them with leg hold traps no bait req. just have to check at least once a day or you'll have three legged rats running around

Coke or Pepsi and fly bait make a great poison but it's not selective. Most critters will eat it up and die very quickly. So just make sure u put away the dogs and cats when u use it. After something drinks at it they usually only make it a few feet from the bait dish!!! Be careful!!

When we get them in in the barn we pour red devil lye down there holes it is acid and it will burn them right out. I don't know if you can get red devil anymore though. Also you can use a poison called counter it's a insecticide and will poison every thing that eats it. So be carefull
