Haha don't judge me here..:I had a job right outa school at a local place called Nasco. They sold the preserved animals that you dissect in science classes. I worked in the preserve rooms. I had too preserve anything from bull balls too pigeons. Had too skin cats for days on end. Some with collars and stuff right on them. I was getting so fast I could skin a cat in 2 min. Haha there is more than 1 way too remove the epidermis of a feline. Anyway, we used those blades there. I quit when humane societies would bring in dogs fresh off the table. I had too remove their heads so they could practice dentistry on them. Also had too remove the rear legs so they could study hip movement. I love dogs too much too have too do that all the time. So I got the hell outa there. Plus I noticed all the guys in there were 50 and single hahaha wonder why.

I bought an ANZA knife not long ago about 4 months or so. Its skinned close to 25 coon so far on one sharpening. You can still shave with it. The blades are made from files!!!!! So they are hard carbon steel.

I have about 10 old case knives never been sharpen, all trappers,Stainless steel is best if you are not going take care of a knife, takes longer to put a edge on them, the only fault I have with a trapper it is heavy in your pocket,A buck is a very good knife. a hand made dunn is a knife.best steel stays sharp.

Don't want to sound dumb but you use it to skin with? Is that why they're called trappers? Been wondering

Trapper is a style of knife. They're a two blade pocket knife. One blade is like a pointed jack knife blade, the other is similar but the pointed tip is notched off. Check out smokey mountain knife works online and get a catalog, theres lots of nice knives in there!

Yep, those Case trappers are sure nice. I use the one blade for skinning and such and the other blade for cutting up food. They also come in two sizes. I have the mini trapper, which is still a decent size pocket knife.
