I think there should be a limit on the number of coon anyone person can trap in one season. At least in my area anyway. That would let the hound hunters have a better season of hunting.

The coon hunters here in arkasas have the advantage over trappers cause our coon season runs bout 3 month longer than trapping season.

Coon hides are my bread and butter I normally put up between 2-400 a season, 95% of them are trapped.the other 5 % I tree with the hounds. I'd be awful hard pressed to put up even a hundred and fifty good prime hides with my dogs in a 90 day season. I wish the trapping season was longer, if I want to tree coons for fun I can do that all spring and summer in chase season. To me coon season is about making a living as well as having fun.

in ark our trapping season starts in nov 15? and last to Feb here in early season they might have a few blue ones, and if you go far in Feb you will run in to blue ones,we generally quit in about the first week in Jan.
