What are the best foot hold and best connibear for coon mink and muskrat? Im fixin to buy some new traps and im wantin to get some that a coon, mink nor muskrat can get out of, also on the footholds, im wantin a trap that if a coyote happens to step in, will get him as well. Thanks. And i was also wondering, how early do yall get up to check trap lines?

1-1/2 coil are good for mink, rats and coon. 110 conibear are good for mink and rats.

A bucket set with a 220 conibear will do nicely for coon, as stated above, 110 conibears for mink and muskrat. Can't help you on leg holds, I've never used em. Check your traps early as you can. Most of the animals that get stolen off them get stolen over night but they can get snagged in the day time too. If you do notice a lot of traps getting robbed you can move to a new spot or set up a camera trap to see what you're dealing with and then decide your next move.

I use the 120 conni when setting for mink I've had to many get threw 110's , if I do set 110 and know there is a good population of mink I might put two 110 in a row cause I had'em swim threw one and not get'em. For coon I like 160 conni it's smaller faster and 9 times out of 10 it gets em right behind the ears so you don't have to wrestle there legs out.
I prefer the number 1 coilspring it is small and tough as nails easy to get into tight sets will hold a coon any day If you think your set will get a yote then 1 1/2 cs would be better but neever had one step in any of my water sets yet. I hook up ALL my water sets up to drowners you will eleminate pull outs
Always check your traps first thing in th morning and if you have the time you might be productive in a before dark check. Good luck and happy trapping
