Coon cuff traps are ok but if your gonna use dog proof traps i recomend the duke dog proof or the lil griz trap. The lil griz have stronger springs and might last a little longer but they are expensive the dukes are a little cheaper but they both work great. Good Luck

I like the duke dp. They are inexpensive and durable and no foot damage.

I just bought a dozen Alcatraz traps. I will being trying them out this next season. They look like they are put together very well. Has anyone used these traps on their line? I have seen no product reviews.

how do you get the coon out without getting attacked by it or do you have to kill it to get it out?

You kill the coon to get them out.

If your careful and bring a helper you can use a release stick and keep it for a rolling cage.

The Alcatraz traps work great. I also have a dozen Coon Cuffs. With the coon cuffs don't use any bait that is liquid that might seep into the ground. The coons will dig the trap out of the ground. I have found a modification that fixes the problem and it makes a faster set. I welded a 6 inch round stabilizer stake to the side of the trap. All you have to do is bait the trigger wires with a marshmallow, set the trap and push it down to where the trap is a half an inch into the ground. I also put a piece of Jack mac under the trigger. Hope this helps
