Well no one is taking a stab at this one so.... Nope- you'll never get that super prime fur like exists in the State of Maine, etc. The fur is thin and I'm not sure if there is much of a market for it. A few years ago (1-2) a guy told me he got at the time $10 for a skin and $8 from a guy that wanted the meat so it was $18 a coon which isn't too bad. Of course the fur prices have since dropped big time. Right now it probably isn't worth anything although you could hold on to the fur awhile.

Yes the fur primes up in the south, but not a thick fur as a Minn. coon when you skin it if it is white under the skin it is prime if blue it is not ,any animal.

here in maryland furs are only $3 and thats a 25lb coon with blue tinted fur thats what they want.
