Cedar (I've heard it's bad for younger pups)

I have carpet in my dog box and in the kennels. Its indoor and outdoor so it doesnt hurt it when i take a water hose to it and spray the crap off.

Straw because it keeps the heat and warms the house and you can add a little cedar too because that kills ticvks and fleas and pest like that

Good Luck,
Clinton

i use indoor out door carpet base..im a pest control tech and have never had any problem with fleas er ticks. than i put in hay er straw. ive heard of peices of straw gettin in a dogs mouth and werkin right threw the skin. any bedding is better than none specailly aday like today...its -9 here and -25 with the wind chill. blankets are no good. make sure your bedding isnt dusty either..can cause kennel cough and such.

Mine prefer cotton or flannel sheets or the occasional snooze on the couch  . When we've had pups in the past we always used newspaper with a couple of small blankets (small enough that a pup wouldn't get lost under one) and kept them in a big, plastic child's wading pool and then sectioned of an area of the room when they grew big enough to climb out of the pool. When they outgrew the pool we kept a sheet of heavy plastic under the newspaper to protect the floor. If they were kept outside we would use straw for all the reasons given by others on here but it is too messy for in the house.

A good eatting hay is (the) best bedding you can get.Straw can have mites in it or fleas...Wood chips are ok for most dogs. Its good for dogs out on chains..They can pull the hay or straw out with there chains..And some break out with the chips....I use old carpet in my truck dog boxs..If they get wet.. I just put in a new one.

havnt used the hay idea, my cows like it better i think lol. we put pine shavings down about 6 inches thick, then straw on top of that. my dogs arent on chains so i dont have to worry about them pulling it out.

Straw is the best bedding it insulates and absorbs moisture plus dogs can arrange it to there liking also ive seen dog spile the straw to the opening of there dog houses when the wind is blowing.
