Post subject:  What about treated lumber?

We are going to build off the ground kennels, and was wondering if it is ok to use treated lumber on the floor. None of the houses the dogs are in now have been chewed on, so I don't think I have worry about them chewing. Gonna use regular untreated wood for the houses. Is there any thing else I need to know about it?

My kennel floors are treated with no problems. I used 2x4 spaced 1.5" apart.

Mine are 5/4 treated decking boards that are 6 inches wide... Did no spacing cause they will shrink about 1/4 inch and that is plenty for urine to fall through. As far as crap sticking I wouldnt worry about it cause I wash my kennels out everyday... I dont know why anyone wouldnt wash them everyday... Would you wanna sleep by a pile of your s@#!...

It's possible that you need more pressure. Get a cheap pressure washer and your dog feces will be removed. [( to the original poster)] Treated lumber is much more durable than untreated. It will pay for its self over a long time span.

I also use a solid floor, with treated boards. That's why i know enough pressure will clean It.
