Snake wins. Dollar was bitten 5 times after her and the rest of the pack treed a bear beside a den of rattlesnakes. 2 other dogs got bit but they were only bit 1 time each.

That is some sick stuff. I hate snakes of any kind and it scares me to death that my dogs might find something like that. Did they give it that anti-venem stuff?

I am happy to report that Dollar was all healed up shortly after the pics were takin. No one could believe how fast she recovered. She is back in the woods and is doin good if not better as she did before her terrible accident.

I hunt mostly in Kanawha County and this place is full of rattlers. I've killed 3 this year so far. I've talked to several loggers and well tenders in the area over the last two years that have told me they see more rattlers in this part of WV than they've seen anywhere else. I've been lucky so far. None of my dogs have been bit. Dogs handle snake venom much better than we do.

If the dog was bit 5 times while treeing that tells me she must be one serious tree dog, you couldn't beat her off with a stick! Good dog.
