I have gotten mixed reviews on the handguns Hi Point makes. I see you can get them for under $200 .With a life time warranty I dont know how you can go wrong. I think Im going to buy one. Let me know what you all think.

I was thinking about getting one in a 9mm caliber for the lady.
I own a Glock 40 pretty happy with that, but the hi point is more in my price range. Ive carried the Beretta, OEF-OIF, never did fire it. I wanted to buy the HI Point because its american.

I have had my Hi-point .40 for about 5 years now.It shoots pretty good,no where nar as bad as some let on.I went to the rang with 2 buddies. One with a Sig 9mm and the other a G27.Needless to say I shoot much better than both with my pistol...and theirs.

The only issue I have is the magazine.I keep it loaded 24/7 The spring has worn out and it jams because the spring isn't feeding correctly.A new magazine and the issue was resolved.

I bought mine for 160.00

Look around as the 9mm should be a little cheaper than what I spent on the .40

200 is pretty high for the pistol.

Keep looking, I bought my .40 cal Hi Point for $85.00. They are good guns, but as said earlier the are a bit big and heavy. I got mine to throw in the truck.

Thats is good advice. I bought mine because it was cheap. The Ruger SR9 is one great shooting pistol and you can find them for around $275 and they are American made. My only other choice woul be a Kimber 1911

I had the 380 and the 9 mm but sold both of them. Put a lot of rounds though both of them with no problems. For the money, its hard to beat the value.

I bought a Hi Point 9mm a few years ago, haven't shot it yet. It cost a tad over $200 new. Only thing I didn't like from the start is that you can't just push a button and flip a lever to take it apart, you have to pop a pin out to disassemble it. If you like cleaning your guns after shooting them, this makes it inconvenient. But, Hi Point recommends cleaning only after 500 rounds.

Oops!, Its a .45 not a 9mm, lol

hawkdog if you cant hit the broad side of a barn u need a shotgun. my cuz has two 9 mm and i was hitting apples from 30 yards away first time i shot it. so they do shoot good. they just dont have that big name like a glock or smith they are a excellent gun for the price.

I've got a high point 9 that I've had for about 10 years and have shot it probably 100 times and have never had a jam. I carry it sidearm during bow season for coyotes but have not shot at anything but a copperhead, which i split the head open at 15 yards. It's by no means a 100 yard gun, but few pistols (much less 100 dollar pistols) are.It is a little heavy, but I figure if someone breaks into my house and is still moving after I empty the clip, I can bludgeon them to death with the gun itself.
