My father in law just gave me a stevens (savage) 94H .410

I was wondering if any of yall shot 410 and if you do what type of ammo do you use?

thanks

Like all shotgun ammo it depends. What are you going to hunt? Squirrels and rabbits..then use 4's or 6's. Doves or pigeons use 7's or 8's. Coons use 4's and expect them to come down mad. .410 is sort of light for tough animals like coons. Just don't stretch out the range or your pattern will be weak. I am guessing the choke on this is Full so that helps some. Sounds like a nice shotgun for you and that it was a family piece makes it even better. Probably everyone is jealous, that's why no replies. LOL If you get bored with it just ship it to me.

if it is a full choked gun then 3" #4's should kill the coon with good head shots. squirrels #6's should be best with 3" shells and they will also kill coons but must be closer.
