I have a nef handirifle it is a cheap little muzzle loader but well worth the money. My pride and joy though is my lymann plainsgame hunter, it is a tradition side lock 50cal. what a fun and beautiful gun. I like the traditional muzzleloaders for the challenge, these new inlines like my handirifle is basically a single shot centerfire anymore.

I'm with rifle carrier all the way and also have a Lymn .54 great Plains Rifle, percussion cap type. You see when you start talking real muzzle loaders you are talking about the history of this great land and the men and women who made it great. When are soldiers faced the .72 cal Brown Bess, Ben Franklin was negotiating the purchase of the slightly longer range .68 cal Fayattville musket from France. When we fought the war of 1812 and the British still with their Brown Bess found themselves up against the rifled muskets that the Americans had divised. in the Mexican wars they found their brass cannons no match for our iron ones!
You see arms races are not something recently divised. While the new inlines have somr advantages to them they have not created a significant place in are history for themselves. I hope you can accept my traditionalist views.

Mel

I use a cva mag hunter in 45 cal. Not the most expensive gun, but it sure gets the job done.

CVA Frontier .50 Cal. Bought it from the Gander Mountain magazine back in the 80's. Shoots great!
