I am looking to get an actual press to reload I have no clue as to what to get I have been reloading for years but always just used the lee classic whack a mole kits because I can work up loads with them at the range and take it to work to kill time. I load 45acp 44mag 223 and 7mm mag. I dont really need a progressive just some thing to turn out loads for weekly use at the range and pin shooting. I shoot at least 100 45acp a week and that is mainly what I load but I have been promoted to a first shift sup. and can no longer sit at my desk all night cranking out rounds for hours on end.

there are alot of good presses out there. you might want to look into a turret press. THey are kind of in between a single stage and a progressive.
Basically you can load up all your dies in the turret and rotate the head to the die you need so you don't have to keep removing and adjusting dies.
They are more expensive but a real time saver and alot less pricey than a progressive

you can see the Redding model here:

Thats about what I am looking for, this may sound crazy but with the classics you get a primer detonation every once in a while while priming the case, does that happen with the turrent press?

3 years ago I would have gave you one, with a tumbler and dies for 38/357 and 44. It worked wonders when I was using it. Before that I had the lee whack a mole kit. Also, the press I had, I still had to insert the primers before using the press.

Honestly, I use a hand primer. I find them faster and safer to use.
They are not very expensive and they work really well.
