Anyone know what grain bullet would be best for deer hunting ?Just bought a 270 was wondering what grain bullet to use.

I use a 150 grain corelockt don't have any get away with these . have used the 130 and didn't care to much for it . Good luck it realy depends on what your gun likes .

I don't have a .270 but I would think a 150 would do the job. I would recommend a nosler partition slug, they drive more deeply before expanding.

i always get the cheapest. never had any prob droppin a deer. my beleif is if you do your time at the range, you shouldnt have trouble killin anything with a .270. anything bigger than deer and lopes i use 150 grain

I'm a big fan of Nosler's partitions and accubonds are what I use.
99% of the slugs made now are good regardless of brand.

130gr are plenty enough for the job. THe first quality deer rifle i had was a Remington M-700 BDL-DM in .270. I have lost track of how many deer were taken with it. But the list will be growing this year. I have loaded some 130gr Barnes X-Bullets for it and am ready to head to the woods.

I use Winchester Silver Tips in 130 grain bullets. They will drop deer dead in their tracks.

I saw a fellow kill a moose wit a 270 (130 gr. silvertip). It went about 30 yds. and dropped.

i use to shoot 150 grain core lockts, but i switched to 130 grain because of the fact that it travels a lil bit faster, i killed a doe a few weeks ago at 350 yards while she was trotting across a field :)

shoot 130's all i need to drop em ive only had 1 buck run with a 130 grain 270 and that was because i shot a little low...
