They're legal in Iowa ONLY if used to shoot furbearing animals that are treed by a hound. Otherwise you're in trouble. I'd like to get one for my Mark 3 but the only grip style ones I have found are the crimson trace and they're $269. Doesn't seem worth it at that price, especially when you can only use it on coon. I wish I could try one for a week just to see it on a target to learn what my mistakes are. I might try out one of the cheap $30 ones that mount on the scope rails.

Almost all gunsmithing websites have them. Try http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=654662
They're down to $239 now.

I have them on all my rifles and pistol. They work great for me. I have the tactical version, flashlight and laser combined in one unit. It mounts on the scope so you have the best of both. The BSA brand is cheap to buy but has very good quality. Even comes with pressure switch that I placed on the stock. Never have a problem with it, stays accurate and it really takes a beating in my dog box.

I have SR 22 with a crimson trace lazer on it and I love it. It's a great little pistol and the lazer makes it 10x better. Like mentioned before I never realized how much I shook. I even thought I had a pretty steady hand. The crimson trace lazer is worth the money in my book

I have a ruger 22 and I was wondering if I could mount a laser sight to it on the scope or something. Also what ladder sight would you guys recommend.

Ruger makes a 10/22 with a red dot laser built right into the front of the stock. Not sure what they get for them but I seen one in Gander Mountain the other day.

do you have it on a .22? i know which one youre talking about and the actually nice price tag on it made me shy away thinking it would be too chincy but if its worth it i really want that setup. do you sight in like with a scope? or how does that part work for the laser? also how far out can you still see the laser point? thanks

Ruger now makes an awesome passer that is meant specifically for the 10/22. It can be mounted to any 10/22 by removing the front barrel band and replacing it with the laser. Its called the lasermaxx 10/22 by ruger. They run around $85. They have the laser and 2 picatinny rails all in one unit. Its just like the laser that comes built into the stock of the new ones but for people who don Want to go buy another 10/22.
