I see just about everyone on here likes the rugger 10/22. Does anyone use the marlin 22? Or is it just a bad gun?

Never had a 22 marlin but I had a 17 hmr with a bull barrel that wouldn't outshoot an air rifle.

MY dad has hunted with semi auto marlins for years they work great as long as clip fed seen couple of tube fed marlins jam alot I have a .17 hmr and .17 mach2 bolt action marlins wouldn't part with either of them both very accurate and reliable there must be something to not cleaning the semi auto's dads idea of cleaning is spraying it with WD40 opening night of season gun hasn't failed for last 10 years

i like the model 37 takedown levergun (i think its a 37). not a big fan of the semis or boltguns, they function like most other 22s other than the 10/22, but they all feel like they are made to have a scope on them i have a hard time looking down the sights.

I have a Marlin model 60 and I don't use it after purchasing the HM2 and HMR

I found when mine got dirty the accuracy dropped considerably. If that gun was clean as a whistle she would cycle and shoot straight as an arrow.

As I said though the .17 in either the HMR or the HM2 are far superiror to the old .22

i have a marlin 22 and love it ive had it since i was about 10 so about 15 years and no problems what soever. i ve killed tons of squirells with it but never took it coon hunting. i guess it has to much sentementl value for me since it was my first gun. i also have a 10/22 which i think everyone likes beacuse it has so many aftermarket parts. i love the clips the ruger has i have the normal 10 and a steel lips 30rd.
