I'm not sure what you mean by 7-08. Are you meaning the 7MM-08 caliber , or a specific rifle you have in mind, that's is a model 7-08?

If you mean a 7mm-08, they are a great deer gun. They are very close to a .308 which is one of my favorites.

Good caliber. Not much ink on them because they are so close to the -06, but they'll do the job.

7MM-08 = 28 caliber bullet in a 308 case. Started out it's life as a wildcat round. Good short action caliber for deer. Good performance round when used within it's boundaries.

I won one and there is nothing wrong with it. I prefer the .308. Probably because i tend to default to .30 caliber guns.

I have a 7mm-08 and it can drop a deer in its tracks at 150 to 200 yards easy I like them as much as my 30-06 and 45-70

I have used a 7mm-08 on whitetails and I loved it. My longest shot on a deer was with this round. 356 yards. I usally shot a .280 Rem and the little 7mm-08 isn't very far behind that in performence.

The 7mm-08 is a fine choice. It will cover pretty much all the game you will run into. It is a good all around rifle.

I love my Model 7 7mm 08!! I can't shoot a 30.06 at all. I flinch. Could probably eliminate that with a bit more practice with it, but I'm comfortable as all get out with the 7mm 08 and in recent years the 308 so why put myself out. 7mm 08 packs enough punch for deer and bear without any trouble and I'd rather put a 7mm08 bullet where I aim than a 30.0 bullet 4 inches from where I was aimin. Paul Conway.
