I have a ruger 10/22 with factory sights.
At night I have a hard time lighting up the coon and my sights at the same time. I have to tilt my light just right on my head then hold the rifle in one hand, extend my arm almost fully... get the point its just agrivating and awkward. Any sugestions. Maby my arms and neck are just too long.
For a year now I have just been dealing with it, but on friday night it took me three shots to hit that cottonmouth swimming towards me.
Maby glow in the dark paint or something on the sights??? If the sights glowed then maby I could light up my target and still be able to see the sights?? Maby the rifle is just to short for me???
Thanks.

A night glow pen used to paint your sights would probably help. I use a coal miners wheat light & I put the cord on the head of the light in my mouth. I shine the light down the side of the rifle barrel & it shows my sights & my target. It takes a little practice but, it will work. I don't use glow in the dark sights either. Try it on some beer cans at night to get use to doing it. Good luck.

You can also get a set of tritium sights that glow in the dark. They are not terribly expensive and they work very well.
