i like killing poisionous snakes. i don't just kill those i stumble onto. i walk the creek banks and swamps looking for them. i thought about using a frog gig but that would just be something else to carry because i'll already be carrying a gun. i thought about using 22 cal snake shot in my rifle but i'm not sure about the range. i want to kill at 15 ft. i already have a 12ga auto so a single barrel 12 ga in improved cylender seems like a good choice. what is no chook called? using bird shot at close distance seems like it would work best. my auto is too heavy when i'll only need one shot or maybe two. do you have any ideas?

A Rem 410/22 Mag over under that way you have the best of both worlds, the range of a 22 mag and the splater ablity of the 410.

I'll have to second what CA hogbender said. My brother has one and for what you're gonna use it for it's great. It isn't really heavy either.

Croatankid, no choke in a shotgun barrel is called open cylinder, meaning no restriction at all in the shotgun barrel. The .22 X 410 combo that's been suggested is a good choice or a 410 single shot shotgun isn't very heavy and will handle the job of dispatching any snake you may run across.
