What do you think is the most all around levergun. I Shoot a Marlin Model 444 and I love that rifle. I am confadent it will stop anything in its path. And it's the only rifle I have ever owned that will start reverse momentum on a chargein boar hog.Lets see what guys prefer when it comes to Big bore leverguns.

the .30-30 is probably the most versatile round you have listed, although it is not my favorite. They are all good solid rounds to use, though. Some are just too big and powerful for "all-round" use

Thats what ever one said when I got my .444 but I laoded it down, slower powder, lighter harder bullets and it doesn't do that much damage to the meat, not like the hot loads I loaded there buffalo stopers 340 Gr JHP backed with 78.5 Gr of H322 there leavin the muzzle at around 2150 but thats not through a cronagraph, thats just what book says they're leavin at, but I'll tell ya what, they hit like a fraight Train. LOL

.444 is a very good round, I in fact, like it better than the .30-30, but it is too big for say varmints, something the .30-30 could do in pinch. I'd classify the .30-30 a jack of all trades, but a master of none.

How about the old Winchester model 88, it came in 243 and 308. Not as fast of an action but in my opinion it is maybe the most accurate of leverguns.

Those Browning BLR's are pretty accurate to be lever guns too.

Both the brownings and the winchester 88's are great lever guns. Never shot an 88 but I have shot the BLR and the action is super smooth.
